Helping others

“I’m actually from Ireland.  I’ve lost the accent obviously, but I still have citizenship there. I go back every year and spend about half of the year on the road.  That’s why I don’t have a car.

Our family is from a town near Donegal.  There were 8 kids on my dad’s side, and 7 from my mom.  Things were tough growing up.  My mom never made it past the 3rd grade, and my dad made it to the 10th, so we say he was the PhD. That’s why we came to the states.

She’s in bad health and I try to make it up to see her whenever her doctor comes.  You know, just to make sure she’s getting the right care.  My brother is a firefighter in Liberty Hill and tries to come out too, but she’s 90, and I try to get there as much as I can but the hard part usually is coordinating with the doctors”

John needed a ride from Austin to Sun City to visit his mom.  We at karmist gave him a ride but we can’t claim John as a karmist user as he doesn’t use a smartphone.  We ran across his request for help on Craigslist.  If you don’t have a smartphone or just find that karmist isn’t your thing but want to help others, we have found that the community>volunteers section in your local Craigslist is a good place to look. is another good alternative to karmist that is web based.  Whichever platform you use, please spread the good karma!
